Poor 308 :(

...and what?

A Ferrari seemed to roll itself away from a gas station after the car caught fire Sunday evening in Martinez, a fire battalion chief said.

Eglite said what probably happened is the drive train disengaged after the car caught fire. The Ferrari rolled down a slight grade, across two lanes of Morello Avenue and onto the center median before firefighters extinguished the fire, he said.

I know people say Ferraris are fragile, but what part part of the drivetrain disengaged in the fire?

Yeah - always liked those, even though I heard a 280ZX could give it a run for the money.

I’m guessing that was reporter error. I would reckon maybe the e brake cable burnt through....either that, or maybe the owner left it in gear (no e brake) and the clutch melted?

I’m glad it doesn’t say if it was a GTS. Because if it was I’d weep for days

It’s “almost like a scene out of Back to the Future,” he said.

I must have missed the scene where a burning Ferrari rolled across the street.

Admittedly, it’s been a couple of decades since I’ve seen BTTF, so I figured there was some reference that I had forgotten. Unless he was referring to the flaming tire tracks, but even then...
